Event - Year 6 at the Paralympics
7 September 2012
On Friday 7th September 2012, Year 6 were extremely privileged to be able to attend the Paralympic Games in London.
Despite the early start all the children were raring to go! We had to board a fast track train to Euston, London and then the fantastic high speed train 'the Javelin' that took us directly to the Olympic park. So a very big 'thank you' to Virgin Trains for providing us with an enjoyable and hassle-free experience.
Once through security the Olympic Stadium was in our sight. It was breathtaking. Having quickly found our seats, the games began. All the athletes were truly inspirational, showing us that anything is possible.
Members of the public continuously praised St Joseph's on their impeccable behaviour throughout the day and couldn't believe we had travelled all the way from Dudley!
The children truly did us proud and it certainly will be a trip to remember by both children and staff.
We have arrived, outside the amazing Olympic Stadium! St. Joseph's getting in to the Olympic spirit. |
On your marks! The 100m is just about to begin. |
