Event - Holocaust Memorial Day

27 January 2012

On 27th January, Year 6 presented an assembly on Holocaust Memorial Day.

The assembly chronicled the life of Anne Frank who hid from the Germans in Amsterdam between 1942 and 1944 before being captured and sent to die in a concentration camp.

The children acted out some scenes which highlighted how both adults and children had their rights denied simply because they were Jews.

The children all wore yellow stars like the ones the Jews were forced to wear.

The Jews were denied their rights by German Officers.

Anne Frank wrote a diary about her life in hiding.
