Event - Brilliant in Britain Week

14 July 2017

On Friday 14th July we celebrated the end of Brilliant to be in Britain week in school by sharing dances the children have created during week.

In addition to creating their dances the children have been learning about the many different cultures which make up Great Britain. The children also learned about the rule of law, democracy, tolerance and individual liberty, which all tie in with our own school values and the heart of our Catholic faith.

Following all of the dance performances we held our Great Summer Get Together where families from different faiths, cultures and religions came together to enjoy music, food and drink, the bouncy castle, various tombolas and a raffle!

Today we proved once more that ‘We have more in common than that which divides us’ – Jo Cox MP.

Nursery’s performance was inspired by Asia.

Reception’s dance represented Africa.

Year 1’s performance was all about Poland.

Year 2 performed a UK Medley.

Year 3’ performance was inspired by Africa.

Year 4’s dance had a focus on Asia.

5M performed a UK Medley.

5H took us to the Caribbean with their dance performance.

Finally Year 6 performed a Multi-Cultural Medley.

Our Great Summer Get Together – also in remembrance of Jo Cox the MP who lost her life last year.
