Event - Anti-Racism and Anti-Bullying Week
29 April 2013
The week beginning 29th April was Anti-Racism and Anti-Bullying Week at St Joseph's.
All of the children took part in special lessons in their classrooms learning about the effects of bullying and racism and presented their work in a special assembly on Friday 3rd May.
During the special week we were very lucky to be able to take part in the Show Racism the Red Card Project, where professional footballers came into school and worked with the children and shared their experiences of Racism on the football pitch. The children had to prepare for the day by watching a DVD and then when the footballers came in they worked with the children both in the classroom and on the football pitch. All children from Years 4,5 and 6 said the day was excellent and that they really did learn a lot from the players.
