The children celebrating Candlemas
On Thursday 2nd February Miss Wisniewski led an assembly to celebrate the Feast of the Presentation – also know as Candlemas.
On this day we celebrate and remember how Mary and Joseph took Jesus to be presented at the temple 40 days after his birth. During their time at the Temple they met Simeon who prophesied that Jesus uttered the prayer that would become known as the Nunc Dimittis, or Canticle of Simeon, which prophesied the redemption of the world by Jesus.
