On Monday 10th July in our Monday assembly we launched our special Brilliant in Britain Week which will conclude on Friday with a Great Get Together with all the children and their families from St Joseph’s gathering together to enjoy dance performances and enjoying the after school get together with stalls, bouncy castle and DJ!
The Great Get Together is a special event organised by the family and friends of Jo Cox, the MP who was sadly killed last year. During the assembly we learnt a little bit more about Jo Cox – her life, family and what she believed in.
Jo Cox believed that ‘we have more in common than that which divides us’ a theory we put to the test when we talked to the person next to us – we found that although we are different in skin colour, religion, gender etc we have a lot more in common e.g. the way we treat each other, our values, our likes and dislikes.
We are looking forward to our Great Get Together on Friday!
