Event - Year 3's Trip to the Allotments

May 2011

In May we were studying 'How plants grow' in Science. Mr Billingsley volunteered to come into school to show us how to look after plants and what they need in order to stay healthy.

Each of us got to plant our own seed and take it home to watch it grow.

After, we went over to the allotments where Mr Billingsley grows some vegetables and we were amazed by the different amounts of things that are grown there.

We had a great time and were very thankfully to Mr Billingsley for giving up his time to help us.

Here we are having a go at planting the seeds.

At the allotments. We had lots of questions to ask!

Mr Billingsley showed us a tomato plant. He let us keep it in our classroom.

We could name some of the plants that were growing in the allotments.

We found out that vegetables were being grown here. Do you know which vegetables these are?
