Event - Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools

6 November 2012

On Tuesday 6th November, Year 6 participated in the Injury Minimisation Programme for Schools (IMPS). This programme focuses on safety and accident prevention. A group of trainers from Sandwell hospital, visited us at school to deliver a workshop.

The children had the opportunity to take a look inside the ‘IMPulance' (the mobile hospital room) to try out some of the equipment, including checking their heart rates.

The children were taught basic CPR skills and what to check for in an emergency. They practised putting each other in the recovery position.

The children had great fun making casts for their fingers! Now we know how broken bones are mended.
